August 1, 2009. Last Thursday, I went to the New Beverly Cinema to watch a new film by Jim Jarmusch; The Limits of Control. The pace and style of the film were right up my alley, which is slow. The pace was so slow to the point where the viewer could actually feel what the main character was going through. I'm in no way going to break this film down by points. But, i will say that I could understand why this film did not have a wide release. The truth, I don't really recall this film ever opening in Los Angeles. Because of the pace and style of the film, regular film audience would not have the patience and open minded enough to give this film a chance.. This leads to my film, Betty I am. During the film, I starting thinking about pace or tempo.. I figured out some edits that would make my film a little more pace friendly to the audience. Plus, the story of my film will be much more refine. And, hopefully by the end of the year my film will be presented somewhere.. Still working on that, every single day.
Lately, I been taking a B & W Photography Class and I love it! So, I'm always looking for opportunities to take pictures of the happenings of Los Angeles. Tuesday, I was a victim of the Nike-Lebron-James picture taking P.R. move. There was this small mini concert in culver city where a J-pop star (Kanon Wakeshima) was going to make an appearance for an album release party type of fiasco. Believing this was an awesome opportunity to take some photos and practice the art of photography. . After only taking one picture which you see below... A hand grabs the front of my camera, a female sony worker (yes, a sony product) tells me with authority that I was not allowed to take photos of Kanon. To make things short, after three songs ..the concert was over.. . The performance was very entertaining.. Another reason that I wanted to attend, its not very often you see someone using a cello instrument in a rock/pop type of act... And, just one more reason to throw out there.. I have a script in the works where it involves a female singer.. And, just seeing how things are after the show. It gave me a great perspective of the aftermath, clean up, crew working to strike down. How Kanon Wakeshima exits the building with her handlers.. It was quite helpful. 
The picture was taken from a website that offer images of inspiration....It just gives me mix emotions...So, I haven't been doing this for a while, and I haven't been writing the amount that I would like to. Hopefully, with this, it would kinda push me and get some things done...
Checking bases. Finally, got a lot of things done from my to do list, which always brings me up and more lively to life. In the food department. This new place open by my job.. LC B.B.Q & Burgers. I was highly impressed by the quality of the food. They make their own burger patties, their own! Even though I had trouble fitting the burger in my mouth, it was still delicious and ranks up there with my choices of one of the best burgers in Los Angeles. I still haven't tried their whole menu, but, soon.. The script has finally gotten some life, I found ways to make it more unique or something around the lines of kinda different from other films or stories... But that's asking for a lot though.. Took some time off this week to catch up on talking life tips with a friend while watching a Los Angeles Laker game. Reflecting on your own personal life and as well as day dreams, gives you a small charge in the creative department needed for this script or some kind of creative work. Soon as I'm done with the script, I'll give a small outline of the script/story in pictures. The pictures or photos give out an idea of the many influence for this script that I been working for three months. Finally played SF4! Street Fighter has been a huge impact in my life since age 9 or so, well, considering in gaming world experience. Was greeted by the great hospitality of hijaktaffairs & drunknconfessions this weekend to get my chance to play SF4. This upcoming week, is the Japanese Film Festival, buying my tickets tomorrow.. So may be I should have something up in the coming days. Or, not.... 
I'd needed to get back to work, while I was at work!.. I haven't written anything of late... When writing, or attempting to write... Kinda weird saying it.. but, "you have to feel it". My life's up's and down's have kept me away from my little black book where my script is being done. Finally, got my mind a little clear... back to it.... When writing, I often get unsure about what I wrote, so I usually start all over again.. This script has too much of my personality, sooo (those who know me, yesh!!) .... Which means that I need to settle down and get back to what make sense and follow a strict story structure.... (This entry was in broken thoughts) Does your personality ever reflect off your work???
Ready to add another page to my script which... This is how it works.. write it by hand to technically make it my first draft then transfer it to my laptop final draft program thingy to make my second draft... .. One good thing about my job; I usually do most of my writing on my lunch breaks.. So.. this is how it works.. (Again) Drive, drive, think and think while driving to figure out script plot points, causes, character wants, what's funny, does it make sense... So, when lunch time rolls around, I have a good grasp on what's going on with the script!! Lot's of cream and lot's sugar...
Well, as of this moment I'm on page 41 or so.. even though it's not 41 pages, more like a rough estimate. When I got to page 28, I was stuck....but in the back of my mind i know what happens in the next scene of the scene i still haven't done after page 28.. Did I lose you??? hope not...
